The goal of West End Wednesday is to drive traffic to Historic West End businesses during the week, showcase the amazing businesses in the area, and show that we can have a safe, fun time in Historic West End.
The Problem
Tourism data from Pacer.ai showed that 37% of visits to the Historic West End involved someone coming from their home and 42% ended witha. trip home; however, 30% of visits follow or are followed by dining, leisure, or shopping outside of the district.
Businesses in the corridor are not capitalizing on the traffic, and ultimately missing out on revenue.
The Solution
West End Wednesday is designed to provide exposure to the businesses in the Historic West End Corridor, and encourage visitors to the area to patronize the businesses in the corridor.
Additionally, the monthly events are designed to shed the stigma of the area as unsafe.
